MacSurf - A new web browser for Mac OS 9

MacSurf is a new web browser built for Mac OS 9 by GitHub user mplsllc, that includes major features including CSS3, ES5 JavaScript, PNGs with alpha, and HTTPS support!

MacSurf is bringing real web browsing back to vintage Macs. MacSurf is not a screenshot proxy, and not a remote terminal. It's a native browser, built with the tools available in CodeWarrior, the Carbon API, QuickDraw and Open Transport.

While this project is still in early development, it is an enormous feat bringing this massive feature set to Mac OS 9. Mac Surf brings modern web browsing standards and support to Classic Macs, and includes CSS features like Flexbox, CSS Grid, custom properties, and ES5 JavaScript. These are the features required to display modern websites correctly, and they are what were missing from existing browsers available under Mac OS 9 since Classilla was discontinued.

MacSurf is still in the alpha/testing stage, and usability/instability issues are expected in this build, however, it is still largely functional.

Check out the MacSurf website for more information and instructions on building/downloading it.
